Charity is always close to the heart of all freemasons and Below are some of the charities we have already donated a sum of money to:

At our January 2026 management meeting it was decided by all the members, that as a lodge we will be raising money to purchase a Blood Bike. This is one of the charities we have and are continuing to support. If you wish to make a donation, please use the attached QR code and in the appeal name field put “Blood Bike”.

Derbyshire Blood Bikes is run entirely by volunteers. They all give their time and expertise for free.

All of their riders hold an advanced riding qualification as well as undergoing training to safely transport medical items.

They also need people as controllers to triage requests and make the most efficient use of their riders.

The below article is an example of what they do all be it this time they used cars to transport the blood;

What does it take to move around 30 litres of donor milk 265 miles to The Hearts Milk Bank?

Collaboration between volunteers! That’s what. And we were on it again yesterday, with our man Steve G, behind the wheel of our Kia, OHH, with the relay starting with Northumbria Blood Bikes and ending with Serv Herts & Beds.

The milk was collected from a number of donors in the Tyneside area and will be processed by the milk bank before being sent to a number of neonatal units, including back to the Royal Victoria Infirmary’s neonatal unit, and one of those return journeys will be done tomorrow!

Milk Banks could not effectively operate without the free support of Blood Bike groups across the UK, all supported by public donations.

After Steve had seen the precious cargo disappear on its continue journey south, he naturally popped into the service station for a ‘refreshment break’. On his return to OHH, he found damage to the front of the car, apparently the victim of a ‘white van man’. Really sad that someone can reverse into another vehicle and fail to stop! More annoying that this car has only recently had a substantial repair too!
