Breakfast meet 1st February 2026
Today the Motorcycle lodge attended Great Northern Classics on Osmaston Road, Derby. This was the first time we have visited this location and, found that it is an ideal place to look around at some old and distinctive vehicles. The cafe on the top floor was warm and welcoming. There was 18 members, some had brought partners and friends making it 35 people who turned out on a wet February Sunday morning and we collected £90 for charitable causes to be distributed to local causes in the near future.
Below are a few photos from todays event:

Triple Initiation January 17th 2026
Today was the day we initiated three new Brothers to our ever growing and successful lodge, Harrison Scott, Martin Walton and John Tonks. The atmosphere in the temple was made even better with over 60 Masons including a number of visitors in attendance.
The three new Initiates all enjoyed themselves and one of them Harrison Scott is a Lewis of a current member Br Andrew Scott.
Once the ceremony had been completed we attended the festive board with 59 dining, it certainly made it an enjoyable place to relax and have a good time with like minded people.
A big thank you to WBro Perridge who took all of the Photographs and arranged and explained the initiates chain.

Breakfast meeting 4th January 2026 The Red Lion Ripley
Today was the first breakfast meeting of 2026 which was attended by 10 members, 4 of whom came with their partners. Not a bad start to say it was the first meeting after Christmas. In true Motorcycle lodge style a collection was made the proceeds of which will go into the charity account ready to distribute to a worthy charity in the near future.

Christmas 2025 Breakfast meet
What a great turnout for the Motorcycle Lodge Christmas Breakfast 2025 at the Captains Tea rooms, Locko Road, Spondon, Derby. A big shout out to Aynesley (the owner) who opened the cafe today especially for the event as it is usually shut on Sundays.
There were members, their families and also a few guests some from the Widows sons and some from other craft lodges who also came with their family.
In true Masonic style a raffle was held to help raise funds for the Children’s ward at the Derby Royal Hospital so that they can supply children with arts and craft packs over the festive period. This was organised by one of our members W. Bro Jeremy Thomas and his wife Alison who were present at this event. As a result of the raffle £180 was raised which was topped up to £250 from lodge funds. Well done Jeremy and Alison for the great work you do for this worthy cause and for the generous donation of the raffle prize.
The picture below to the left, shows the winner of the raffle Bro Gary Fowler, which was a Christmas Hamper, and was presented by W. Bro Jeremy Thomas. Bro Fowler of the Phoenix Lodge of Saint Ann No. 1235, is also a member of the Widows sons “Merlin Chapter” who came today to support this event and ended up winning the raffle well done Gary.
Banner Dedication Ceremony November 2025
Today was the banner dedication for the Derbyshire Motorcycle Lodge No 9950.
This is a unique ceremony which is very rarely performed so it attracted a lot of attention from visitors from other lodges.
With over 70 people in the temple the ceremony was attended by The Provincial Grand Master Ian Robert Copestake and numerous other provincial officers including officers that were part of the banner dedication team.
The Provincial Grand Master conducted the ceremony assisted by The Provincial Director of Ceremonies Nick Daines, without whom the ceremony would not gone as smoothly as it did.
This was a truly special day for the lodge which was consecrated in 2017, who can now display their own Banner within the temple alongside other lodges that meet at Long Eaton masonic hall.
